Who We Are
The Law Badgers are not a settlement mill. We’re not a billboard factory that hands your case off to paralegals. We are trial lawyers — seasoned, battle-tested, and unafraid of courtrooms, insurance companies, opposing counsel, juries, and everything in between.
Our firm was founded by longtime legal partners Sean Woods and Bob Mills, who together bring over 60 years of combined litigation experience. We’ve argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and our attorneys are admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. We use that experience to approach every case with one goal: get you the maximum compensation you deserve.
When you hire the Law Badgers, you work directly with Sean or Bob — not an associate, not a paralegal, not a case manager. A named partner actually works on your case, communicates with you directly, and fights for you personally.
As featured in PHOENIX magazine’s “Star Attorneys” profile: the Law Badgers brand was inspired by the famous “honey badger don’t care” viral video — reflecting the tenacity and fearlessness we bring to every case.
Sean Woods — Managing Partner
Sean Anthony Woods is an Arizona native — born in Tucson, raised in Phoenix, and a graduate of Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. He has extensive battle-tested experience in litigation, personal injury, wrongful death, and federal 42 USC § 1983 civil rights claims.
Sean has argued multiple cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and is admitted to practice in Arizona state courts, the District Court of Arizona, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
He has helped clients recover millions of dollars in damages in litigation matters relating to personal injury, contractual breaches, theft of trade secrets, and more. Sean’s approach is direct: prepare every case for trial from day one. That preparation is what drives fair settlements — and when settlements aren’t fair, Sean walks into the courtroom ready to fight.
As a retired Illinois Criminal Court Judge with 18 years on the bench wrote: “Sean Woods is one of the finest attorneys I have ever encountered in my legal career. His knowledge of the law and the legal strategies he employed were brilliant.”

Bob Mills — Managing Partner
Robert T. Mills is a decades-long litigator and avid motorcycle enthusiast whose courtroom experience gives the Law Badgers the credibility that gets cases resolved — whether at the negotiation table or in front of a jury.
Bob understands what injured people go through because he lives the same lifestyle his clients do. When a motorcycle rider, car accident victim, or grieving family walks through our door, Bob connects with them on a personal level. That empathy, combined with aggressive trial preparation, makes him a formidable advocate.
Together with Sean, Bob co-founded both Mills and Woods Law and the Law Badgers brand — bringing civil rights litigation, personal injury, and wrongful death experience under one roof.
In the Courtroom — 9th Circuit Oral Arguments
Our team doesn’t just threaten to go to court. We’ve been there — repeatedly — at the highest levels. Here are some of our federal appellate cases:
- Garcia v. Wexford Health Sources, Inc. (18-17010) — 9th Circuit argument in a federal 42 USC § 1983 gross negligence case
- Denby v. Francisco Lujan (19-15803) — 9th Circuit argument in a 42 USC § 1983 federal civil rights wrongful search and seizure case
- Denby v. David Engstrom (20-16319) — 9th Circuit argument in a 42 USC § 1983 wrongful search and seizure case
- Franco v. Mesa Police Department (21-15624) — 9th Circuit argument in a federal civil rights case
- Lee v. ING Groep, N.V. (14-15848) — 9th Circuit argument
This is the level of litigation experience behind every personal injury case we take. Insurance companies know our track record — and they adjust their offers accordingly.
